Thank Me Later Won't Reach Gold 1st Week?

According to projections by DailyHits.com, Drake's album will not achieve Gold status in its 1st week. Here's how the magazine is reporting it:
The half-Jewish Toronto hip-hop star, who got his start in the teen TV cult hit Degrassi: The Next Generation, goes to the head of the class this week on his Young Money/Cash Money/Universal Motown debut, Thank Me Later, with first-week sales in the 450-475k range, making it a lock for #1.
Based on one-day sales reports from those retailers still blowing their own vuvezelas, that would be the third highest-total this year following Sade (501k) and Lady Antebellum (481k).

We'll be watching to see if the predictions are correct. Part of me is surprised but on the other hand, the album DID leak 2 weeks before release. Thoughts?

Amber Rose Does NOH8

Amber Rose brings her bald-headed swag to a PSA for NOH8 — the gay rights activist movement. Makes sense, she's bisexual, after all. The third NOH8 PSA was developed to share one simple message: I am human. “No matter what language you speak or what country you live in, everybody everywhere speaks the universal language of love. We are all human, and we deserve to be treated equally.”
She looks gorgeous in the PSA, i find the photo a bit too brushed. But that's just me.

Jay-Z will NOT release his autobiography

The crazy thing about this post is that I was just thinking yesterday how excited I am to read Jay-Z's bio!! Well, it looks like I won't be doing that anytime soon. Jay-Z is refusing to sign off on the autobiography he completed with writer Dream Hampton, despite his insistence that he’s covered most of the information in the book through his song lyrics. Here's what he had to say:
“It’s too much. For the book, I was interviewed, people close to me were interviewed, so I was learning a lot of things I didn’t know as a child. It’s not anything I haven’t said in the past, in songs. It’s just more detailed… You can say exactly how everything went.”

Despite his refusal to publish the book, the material hasn’t gone completely to waste. The rapper born Shawn Carter says working on the project gave him a fresh perspective on his Dad, who left the family when he was only 11. He tells Rolling Stone magazine:
"It was still wrong… that he left, but he did stick around at a time when it wasn’t cool or popular. He married my mom at a time when guys were just leaving, and you’d never even meet your dad. So it (the book) made me ease up a little bit in how I felt about him.”

*bottom lip waaaaaay out* C'mon son! Did the Illuminati make you not put it out? Let me stop.

Spotted: Trey Songz Suited Up

Trey Songz was spotted yesterday evening at the UJA-Federation Luncheon in New York. He’s definitely come a long way since the start of his career. He's hella handsome but I keep hearing little things here and there about his attitude and cockiness. I never met the man myself so I refuse to judge but his music and looks are both great. Go head Trey.

Drizzy Shuts It Down...Literally

Although Toronto fans were not too happy with the fact that Drizzy Drake wasn't at home for his big day (unless you're living under a rock, his album dropped yesterday), there was nothing they could do it about it. That's because Drake was in New York City, maybe he wanted to be closer to Weezy. Just saying. Anyways, Drake was set to perform for free at South Street Seaport. But the shindig turned into a mini riot before Drake even arrived. After an hour and a half of kids standing on top of each other with no action or no music playin’, things were bound to go left. The police had to shut down the concert. Here's what Drake had to say:
“I am humbled by the crowd that showed up in support of my performance and the release of Thank Me Later. I love performing for my fans but unfortunately the show was canceled by the NYPD due to over crowding, leaving me without the chance to give my fans a real show. I’m thankful for the support that the fans have been giving me… I thank you now.”

Check out some video of the incident:

Here's another one of chair-throwing. Chair-throwing? REALLY? SMH.

Another Canadian in NYC

Drake wasn't the only Canadian kickin it in NYC last night. Ms. Fefe Dobson was also there taking in the fun at the Moët Rosé Lounge kick off at Ink 48. Fefe looked cute as she posed with the huge bottle of Rosé. We want a new album Fefe!! Do we like this look on her?

Kelis: 4th of July

Kelis takes to the desert in her latest visual effort for the song "4th of July". Kelis, her nose ring and Native America headdress dance seductively as the summer sun burns. Then there's disco-like scene with flashing red lights Then there's a fire and a scene stage and some water and fireworks. What am I getting at? There's no concept other than the "hot" theme. Well, she did burn Nas...just saying.

The Right Way to Rock Mismatched Prints

I thought about putting this in my "Fashion Forward or Fail" category but I really think RiRi found a super cute way to rock mismatch prints. Ladies, prints are huge for the summer but it's really all about how you wear then. Here, RiRi took a black/white polka dot miniskit and a pastel floral strapless top for a cute combo. She finished it off with studded Louboutins. By the way, RiRi is now back in the U.S. to take a break from her world tour. By the way, she added Travis McCoy of the Gym Class Heroes to the American leg.
