Drizzy Invades the Charts

As if it wasn't enough that Drake's album debuted at number one on the US charts and sold close to 500,000 copies in its first week, he's also dominating the charts with quite a few singles. As a matter of fact, just about HALF of the album landed on the Billboard Charts this week. Check it out:

#5 “Find Your Love”
#32 “Over”
#63 “Miss Me” Ft. Lil Wayne

Debuts:
#49 “Up All Night” Ft. Nicki Minaj
#57 “9AM in Dallas”
#71 “Fireworks,” Ft. Alicia Keys
#87″ Fancy” Ft. T.I. & Swizz Beatz

Toronto, I suggest you stand way up and applaud him.

Drake Teams Up with Jimmy Kimmel

Drake got in tune with Jimmy Brooks last night on Jimmy Kimmel Live. He and Jimmy performed a Twitter skit and Drake was actually FUNNY *gasp*. Someone really channeled his acting career. I'd love to see him host Saturday Night Live, no lie.
Drake and Nicki Minaj then performed “Over” and “Bedrock”.

Ne-Yo's Got a Baby on the Way

Well, I didn't see this one coming. R&B singer (and former CreamWorld cover boy) is gonna be a daddy! Ne-Yo confirmed that his girlfriend (Monyetta Shaw) is pregnant with their first child. Monyetta is about 4 months pregnant and is due on New Year's Day. There’s no word on the sex of the baby because during the ultrasound the tiny tot curled up in a ball, leading Ne-Yo to joke that his future progeny is “stubborn.” But, he added, “They didn’t get that one from me.”
Guess all those rumours about you know...what team Ne-Yo batted for can be silenced now. Right? Congrats to the happy couple.

We're Still Rockin With You, MJ

It was a year ago today that Michael Jackson was found dead. Since then, the world has not stopped mourning the King of Pop. Today, we take a moment to remember MJ for all his contributions to music and the entertainment industry. Get your glove, your red jacket, and penny loafers and do the Moon Walk one time in remembrance of the greatest entertainer who ever lived. RIP Michael Jackson. You are missed.

Beanie Sigel Goes at Drake's "B!tch Ass"

Despite the Dr. Dre and Timbo appearance all things in hip-hop can't be positive. Of course, why would they be? (Can you sense the sarcasm?). Anyways, it seems that Beanie Sigel is taking shots at Drake now in the middle of taking shots at Jay-Z. Basically, as you'll see in the video, Beanie says something along the lines of "Y'all keep letting that n*gga get on y'all records and pop sh*t, I'ma start coming at y'all little n*ggas. Smack the sh*t outta Drake b*tch a**."
Eeeek, everyone knows that Drake is not one to engage in rap beefs. But I guess Beanie is taking aim at anyone who allows Jay-Z to talk trash on a record. Thoughts?

Kelis Still Milking Nas

First and foremost, I never knew Little Nas had gotten so big! It's hard to tell from this image, but I say he looks more like his momma. Anyways, onto today's edition of Nas and Kelis news. TMZ has obtained legs documents in which Nas concedes that he indeed owes Kelis $300,000 in spousal support. But there's also another problem, Nas is behind on the mortgage for the home in which Kelis is living, to the tune of $52,989.22.
Nas’ lawyer has filed a payment plan with the court, in which the rapper agrees to pay $17,500 up front, and then pretty much double the $7,800 mortgage payment each month to catch up. I hate to say it but: would've been cheaper to keep her.

Beyonce & Jay-Z Club It Up

Last time I blogged about the Carters, I told you that they were out an awful lot lately. I also told you about their bodyguards silly tactics of shining flashlights in the eyes of the paps (teehee). Well, they were out again last night in NYC chilling at the one year anniversary of club Avenue.
Is it just me or is Beyonce looking a little bit thicky thick these days? She rocked a midriff-bearing top and some shredded long cutoffs with heels. Cute look.

Timbo & Dre Surprise High School Students

Don't you love when something really positive happens in hip-hop? I sure do. It gives me a warm feeling in my tummy. I got that warm feeling when I saw that Timbaland and Dr. Dre teamed up yesterday to surprise a group of high school graduates in California. The two made an appearance at a graduation party, compliments of Hewlett Packard and Interscope Records. The two companies are said to be working to improve sound quality through products such as Dre's “Beats By Dre” headphones.
While Dre didn't hit the stage and still claims to be working on "Detox", the Associated Press reports that Timbaland performed several songs including “The Way I Are” and “Say Something” sans Drake who was not in town for the performance.
The promotional event was recorded for a documentary and the students were given free food, and raffled for HP products.
The computer company also agreed to donate $10,000 worth of computer equipment to the school.
