Lloyd Banks Beats Assault Charge

Assault charges filed in Ontario against rapper Lloyd Banks have been dismissed. During his Canada stop in January 2010, the rapper and his entourage were arrested for allegedly assaulting club promoter, Chris Hines after a show. Banks’ lawyer tells AHH:

“Banks would like to thank his Canadian counsel, Patrick Ducharme, and the authorities in Ontario for doing ‘the right thing. After a careful and neutral evaluation of the facts, it is good to see that the system actually worked. With this finally behind him, Banks looks forward to coming back to Canada soon.”

Gotti's Grandson Calls Out Rick Ross

*le sigh* Rick Ross has irked the family of legendary gangster John Gotti by his "Teflon Don" album, which was released yesterday. According to an interview with the New York Daily News, Gotti's grandson Carmine explains his beef with Ross's album name:

My grandfather paid his dues for that nickname. That was my grandfather’s life. He should have asked for permission. A standup, respectable guy would come and ask ‘Could I use the nickname?' I think he’s a great artist, but you can’t just start calling yourself that to sell records …He wants to go for that whole image, but hey, be yourself.

Carmine then added that, only in America can you go from being a corrections officer to calling yourself Teflon Don. For the record, John Gotti was dubbed the “Teflon Don” after winning acquittal after acquittal in the 1980s. He was finally convicted of murder and racketeering in 1992. Oh, and did I mention that Carmine is trying to launch a hip-hop career? SMH.

Chris Brown Taking Shots at RiRi?

One of the most fun Twitter activities (all my fellow Twits will confirm) is Trending Topics. People ReTweet you, you laugh, you RT others and sometimes even celebs get involved. Well, last night Chris Brown thought it would be a good idea to participate in the #YeahYouSexBut trending topic. After a few funny tweets, Chris's tweets took a very suspect turn and seemed to reference his past. Not to make assumptions but the tweets were deleted moments later. Check it out...was he talking about RiRi?

Does This Even Matter?

So someone named Neil Grant must be sitting somewhere right now with a smug smile for releasing photos of Nicki Minaj from back in the day with a noticeably small backside than she posses today. But...seriously...is it warranted? Think about it. This won't diminish her career, nor will it stop guys (and girls) from drooling over her body. So, in the end, Neil Grant didn't really accomplish anything by releasing these images except to look like a hater (kinda like that Keys chick, Gloria Velez and anyone else trying to get shine off of Ms. Minaj).
In the grand scheme of things, what does her ass have to do with her ability to spit rhymes anyways? AND who DOESNT have some kinda injections/surgery in the industry these days?

Dwaye Wade & Gabby Union Go Public

Over the weekend Miami Heat star Dwayne Wade and actress Gabriel Union confirmed what everyone already knew: They're a couple. The twosome made their first public appearance at the Summer Groove Comedy Jam in Hollywood, FL. The couple apparently told the press today that they are officially a couple and that this would be their coming out party.


Since they were already on a roll, they continued to be spotted together throughout the weekend. Grabby came out to support Dwyane as he participated in Alonzo Mourning’s Zo’s Groove All Star game on Sunday and then the two got all dressed up for Zo's benefit dinner. Whatever happened to Dwayne's ex-wife suing Gabby? Was that thrown out of court?

LeBron's $50-Million Pad

Wowzers....I was impressed when I saw the digs Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz might be living in. But their NYC apartment is nothing compared to LeBron Jame's $50-million compound. According to reports, Lebron James who recently signed a 6-year, $110-million deal with the Heat, is in the process of purchasing this mansion in the Coral Gables section of Miami. The 8 bedroom/11 bathroom home was once owned by Heat coach Pat Riley and was taken off of the market shortly after Lebron’s “Decision” special aired.
According to Ozone’s estimate, mortgage payments on a property like this would likely run just under a half million dollars a month. Taxes are about $1 million per year, with an additional $150,000 for utilities. Well, BronBron can afford it.
