Mary J. Blige's Howard University Mix-up

Something rather strange is going on and either Mary J. Blige or Howard University is lying. Well, you see, Mary performed a concert on “Good Morning America” where she excitedly told the audience she was set to attend Howard University: “As you know I never got a chance to finish high school but they gave me my honorary degree the other day ... and I've been accepted into Howard University, the class of 2014!”
However, now a representative for the University issued a statement denying her claims. The statement reads: “We encourage Ms. Blige to continue her studies and welcome her consideration of Howard University in the future. We are happy to work with Ms. Blige on completing the formal process for admission."
The institution previously refused to speak on her admission to the University because the information is considered “classified” but later released the formal statement denying her claims. Mary has since taken to her Twitter to defend herself and posted a series of tweets saying,


This situation is strange to say the least...but someone is lying. I don't see why someone would have to lie about being accepted to a university. And isn't Mary to old to be telling tales anyways? We'll see what happens with this.

"GMA" Says No Thanks to Drake

Despire his immense popularity, ABC has decided not to book Drake for a July 16 show in Central Park after the NYPD told the city Parks Department that Parks’ security plan wasn’t up to snuff, Parks and police sources said.
The concert was going to be part of ABC’s “Good Morning America” summer concert series, which has already featured megastars Miley Cyrus, the Jonas Brothers and Alicia Keys. “We were interested in having Drake perform, but he was never officially booked,” an ABC spokesperson said yesterday without elaborating. A spokesperson for Drake confirmed there was a “booking in place,” but declined to comment further.
Damn...one riot and Drake won't ever perform a free concert in NY again. Sheesh.

At the beginning of the year, the Internet was abuzz with rumours that Alicia Keys and her fiance Swizz Beatz were house hunting and looked at Lenny Kravitz's fab SoHo, NY loft. Well, it looks like the couple just dropped $14-million on the spot. What's so stunning about the space? According to Real Estate Stalker:

Zoe Saldana Does Calvin Klein

Ever since her role in "Avatar", Zoe Saldana is staying a winner. She recently became the face of Calvin Klien and will appear in the company's newest ads, like the one above. One becoming assoicated with the company, Zoe had this to say: "Calvin Klein has always put forth such beautifully executed campaigns. It’s very exciting for me to be associated with such an iconic, globally recognized brand like Calvin Klein Underwear."
Last night at her first Calvin Klein event, Zoe looked simply fabulous. The newly engaged actress rocked a pale blue cut-out Calvin Klein dress that clung to her bod. Her makeup and shoes were hot a well.

Lindsay Lohan Gets Jail Time

Judge Marsha Revel today sentenced troubled actress Lindsay Lohan to 90 days in jail for violating the terms of her probation. Prosecutor Danette Meyers called witnesses from the Right On Drug & Alcohol Rehab to show that Lohan was not in compliance when she failed to attend 9 alcohol education classes in direct violation of Judge Revel’s orders.
Lohan was also ordered to wear a SCRAM alcohol monitoring ankle bracelet. The monitoring agency reported a violation to the court during the MTV awards last month. A subsequent blood test was negative for alcohol.
A tearful Lohan addressed the judge, saying she didn’t realize she was out of compliance and she did everything she was supposed to do. “I’m not taking this as a joke. It’s my life and my career. I thought it was OK that I missed those classes.”
The judge was not moved by her tears.
In making her decision, Judge Revel pointed out that Lohan had not been in compliance with a previous drug treatment program. The judge said at that time, Lohan used the paparazzi as an excuse to miss prior education education classes.
“I couldn’t have been more clear,” said Judge Revel. “Nowhere did I say that she could attend classes whenever she felt like it.”

In related news, Lindsay had a nice little message for the judge painted on her finger nail. SMH. Get it together little girl, you are so lost right now. Wonder what the judge would've thought of Lindsay's immature display had she seen it.

Nicki Minaj Speaks about "Your Love"

MTV caught up with Nicki Minaj on the set of her "accidental" No. 1 hit single "Your Love". You see, the song was never supposed to be released...I guess leaks ARE good for something. Among other things, Nicki tells MTV: “I was not planning on putting the song out at all, but then I heard it one day, somebody told me it was online. And I was like, ‘No way, no way in the world that song is out.’ I went and listened to it and was really upset. It wasn’t mixed, it wasn’t finished, it wasn’t anything —I wasn’t gonna use it at all. But then radio started playing it.” “Isn’t that crazy? Crazy. I don’t even know how it feels [to have a #1 hit] right now. But it’s amazing.”
As we reported earlier, this is the first time in eight years that a solo female rapper has had a No. 1 record. Congrats Nicki!

Beyonce Chillin in London

Yesterday we reported that Jay and Bey were in Europe hanging out and that Beyonce seems to have gotten a lil bit thicker than ususal. Well, Beyonce's still chilling in London. She was spotted rocking a very cute black jumpsuit and hella high black and lucite heels. Bey even stopped to pose for a photo with a young fan. Of course, Julius was with her, minus the flashlights this time. Whomp whomp.
Also, a spokesperson for Beyonce has dismissed reports of bad blood between Beyonce and her father stating, "There is abosolutely no merit to this. This is absolutely false."

Tyra Banks was spotted at an airport in London minus a lace-front and makeup. I dunno about you, but I like that Tyra is rejecting the Hollywood standard. Good for her. Plus, the outfit is cute.
