Summer Heat 2K9 Concert in Toronto

Checked out the Summer Heat 2K9 concert featuring T-Pain, Keri Hilson, Jazmine Sullivan, Flo Rida and Kevin Rudolph last night in Toronto. It was a great show, despite the lack of audience. Nas Names His Baby.....

After a lengthy labour, Kelis gave birth to a healthy baby boy late yesterday. Nas was apparently prohibited from being in the delivery room, but he did post a video from his Queensbridge neighbourhood speaking about the birth of his son. He also revealed the baby's name. Drum roll please....
Kelis's and Nas's son is named....Knight.
We with them the best and hope they can put aside their personal problems to focus on the well-being of their baby.

Hasn't your mama taught you that just because everyone else is doing it, it's not always the right choice for you? SMH. We don't think this is the best look for Solange. Although, it may grow on us.

MJ's Kids Might Be Raised by Rebbie Jackson

Who's Rebbie, you ask? She is MJ's older sister, who has stayed totally out of the spotlight. The Internet is ablaze with that that even if Katherine Jackson receives custody of Michael’s 3 children, they will more than likely be raised by Rebbie, who has been helping Katherine with the kids at the Encino, CA home.
Rebbie currently lives in Las Vegas with her husband and is 59 years old. Although Rebbie was a singer early on, she has remained pretty quiet since, making her a great fit for a guardian.

Jay-Z finally spoke about Chris Brown and addressed the situation with The Game on the radio yesterday. Here's some of the highlights:

On whether he had Chris Brown shut out of the BET awards:

“First let me categorically…… deny that, that’s not even my style. If I have a problem with Chris Brown, I have a problem with Chris Brown. I haven’t said anything…live or behind the scenes. I don’t agree with what he did and that’s it…
But as far as not letting him perform on BET, that’s ridiculous, that’s stupid and that’s a sucker move. I wouldn’t do it. And people commenting on rumors, that’s a sucker move.”

Kelis Giving Birth

According to TMZ, there's a good reason Kelis is skipping out on today's scheduled court date to fight Nas for child support and baby and prenatal expenses -- she's giving birth right now!! TMZ has learned the singer is currently in labor, about to deliver a brand new baby boy.
The two were scheduled to battle over expenses. She says he's paid nothing. Nas claims he's paid some. Let's hope they get it together soon now that the baby is here.

MJ's Kids to be Raised by Aunt Janet?

Media outlets are claiming Janet Jackson has stepped up and offered to raise Prince Michael, Paris and Blanket, if the kids decide they would feel more comfortable being brought up by their aunt.
Sources say Janet has grown quite close to the children since her brother's death and has even said, "I'll step forward and raise them if this is what they want."
The guardianship hearing is scheduled to take place in a Los Angeles Superior Court on August 3rd, after already being rescheduled three times since Jackson's death.

Michelle Williams Still Doin Her Thing

Michelle Williams, who is currently playing Roxy in Chicago on the West End Stage, performed at G-A-Y over the weekend in London, England.

Michelle will be playing Roxie Hart at the Cambridge Theatre in London during a limited six-week engagement running through August 23.

Foxy Brown's Money Probelms

Allhiphop.com reports that Rapper Foxy Brown has been hit with a lawsuit from U.S. tax officials after running up debts of $641,558. The star is accused of failing to keep up with her taxes since 2003, and Internal Revenue Service (IRS) agents have taken their case to a court in New York to try to recoup the cash.
IRS officials have filed tax lien documents against Brown for allegedly missing payments between 2003 and 2006.

According to Hit Daily Double, AEG, Sony Music and Michael Jackson's estate are currently negotiating a deal to release rehearsal footage from MJ's This Is It tour on DVD and possibly in theatres. The folks at Sony, including film division head Amy Pascal, describe Jackson's performance as "spectacular."
