This past weekend, rapper Kid Cudi was in Toronto. Photographer, and often-collaborator with CreamWorld magazine, was there to capture Kid Cudi on stage. He shares his photos and words....
Toronto-based live remix band, Keys N Krates opened up for Kid Cudi and they did a great job of hyping up the crowd, which was mostly comprised of teenagers. Kid Cudi's performance at the ACC, with Lady Gaga was pushed back, so he didn't begin performing at the Kool Haus until past midnight, although he has been scheduled for 11 pm. Before he came on stage, it almost seemed as if he was going to be a no-show. The entire crowd was screaming "refund!" violently, until Kid Cudi
seemed to come out of nowhere to "Already Home". At that point, the whole crowd went crazy. He had a lot of energy, while performing both old material from his critically acclaimed mixtape, "A Kid Named Cudi" and also from his debut album, "Man On The Moon: The End of Day".
Home-grown talent, Drake made a surprise guest appearance, performed his verse from "Forever", and also helped Cudi perform his single, "Poke Her Face".
Overall it was a great concert, but then countless fights that broke out due to the lack of maturity of Cudi's target market, made viewing the performance somewhat difficult at times.
