Major consulting firm, Accenture, announced yesterday that it would be ending Tiger Woods’ sponsorship. Here is what the company had to say:
“Given the circumstances of the last two weeks … the company has determined that he is no longer the right representative for its advertising.”
The endorsement deal with Accenture brought in $7-million a year for Tiger. In doing so, Accenture became the first giant corporate sponsor known to have cut all ties with Woods. AT&T and Gillette have also stopped running ads featuring the once-beloved sports icon, and analysts say they may also dump Woods soon.
