Renee Thompson Takes on Racism in Modeling

Jamaica-born, Canada-raised model stars in a short documentary called "The Colour of Beauty", which follows her as she books jobs for New York Fashion Week. The 17-minute doc, directed by Elizabeth St. Philip follows the fiercely talented Black model and asks Why isn’t the multicultural society that we live in reflected in our magazines, on billboards and on the runways of fashion shows? And who are the parties involved in this industry’s lack of diversity? Whatever the answer, the fact is that models of colour work less, and their chances of success are much lower.
CreamWorld has worked with Renee in the past and wishes her all the success in the world. Congrats on this important expose Renee. Check out the article that appeared about Renee in CreamWorld by enlarging the photo:

  2. Just like the Italian Vogue, this won't change anything. It's sad, but true.
