Chris Brown Tweets For the Last Time

*sigh* I dunno whose bright idea it was to let this young man run his own Twitter account but sure enough Chris Brown's handlers let him do just that. Well, now Breezy is the latest celeb discovering that 140 characters can do some damage if used incorrectly. Lemme give you a little background before I get to my point. Over the weekend while Swizz Beatz was tweeting about Alicia Key and The-Dream was complaining about not being nominated for a Grammy, Chris Brown was bitching about stores not stocking his album. Ummmm Chris, you put your hands on someone a year ago and when I say put hands on, I mean beat her senseless. Seriously? You're surprised that not everyone is supporting you? You poor, poor kid. Do you STILL not realize the severity of what you did, coupled with the actions that followed (i.e. riding around on jet skiis a week later and putting out scripted apologies) didn't help? Either way, after the rant, in which Chris said f*ck the industry and all typa other mess, he deactivated his Twitter account yesterday. Twitter then proceeded to buzz hoping that Chris didn't go crazy and require suicide watch. I doubt it's that serious but honestly, his handlers should've kept an eye on him rather than allowing someone who had been through so much to go unmonitored and be left at the hands of the Internet, which can often be merciless. That's just my 2 cents.

  1. It's true still, a few times he has done stupid things on Twitter. Like the time he posted photos of himself doing community service talking about "look at my outfit." He really should not have been allowed to run amuk on there.

  2. I don't agree with the decision by stores not to stock his album. Everything about today's world is so political and judgemental. Chris Brown is his own product, its not a product he's endorsing that is getting this 'silent boycott'. If it were, that would make the situation totally different. But at the end of the day, he is a human being. He can never really prove that he has been rehabilitated, except to never repeat those same mistakes again.

James Brown has been accused of battery and assault on his wife in the past, you won't ever see stores scaling back on stocking his album. You won't ever see a blockbuster Hollywood movie pulled from shelves because the main star in the film is a convicted abuser, or a drug addict, or slept with prostitutes, or cheated. So why Chris Brown?

Even R. Kelly has never complained about this kind of silent boycott treatment, and look at the accusations he has stood up against before (yeah, child porn and sex with an underraged minor, no joke). And he was still allowed to be the artist he always was, even without showing any true remorse or rehabilitation. He never even defended himself in court at the time when he was dropping double albums and going platinum.

Not fair to Chris, even though he does have the intellect of a cashew.
